Carers Victoria Submission to the Victorian Government Pathways to a new Victorian social housing framework

In August 2012, Carers Victoria made a submission to the Victorian Government's consultation process on the future of social housing in the state, as part of its 'commitment to develop a new housing framework better suited to our communities' needs.'

The government published two discussion papers: ‘Pathways to a fair and sustainable social housing system’ and ‘Social Housing a discussion paper on the options to improve the supply of quality housing.'

More information about the papers and consultation process can be found here: http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/about-the-department/plans,-programs-and-projects/plans-and-strategies/housing-and-community-building/Pathways-to-a-new-Victorian-social-housing-framework

Carers Victoria's submission raises a number of concerns about social housing for people with a disability and/or mental health problems and their families.

Carers Victoria acknowledges the traditional owners of this land and pays respect to elders both past and present.
