Refugee and migrant young people with caring responsibilities

CMY in collaboration with Carers Victoria and the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria have released a guide on working with migrant and refugee young people with caring responsibilities.

In 2010 and 2011, CMY, Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria (ECCV) and Carers Victoria came together to explore the effects of caring responsibilities on young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. This resulted in a joint background paper: Refugee and Migrant Young People with Caring Responsibilities: What do we know?

The good practice guide, Working with young people from reugee and migrant backgrounds with caring responsilities explores themes relevant to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds with caring responsibilities. It discusses strategies to enhance the accessibility and responsiveness of services for supporting good practice when working with this group of young people.

Carers Victoria acknowledges the traditional owners of this land and pays respect to elders both past and present.
