Our Work with LGBTI communities

Carers Victoria is committed to supporting LGBTI carers by:

• developing LGBTI inclusive and culturally safe services

• raising awareness about LGBTI carers

• learning more about the needs of LGBTI carers through collaborative research and community  projects

• supporting LGBTI carers to advocate for themselves and those they care for

• assisting other organisations to become more inclusive and responsive to the needs of LGBTI  carers.

The Diversity Policy Advisor at Carers Victoria regularly undertakes LGBTI-related policy work and research as part of a commitment to the ‘Diversity’ Policy Portfolio. If you are an LGBTI carer and would like to be listed for future contact regarding consultations or research on LGBTI people in care relationships, please email: policy@carersvictoria.org.au

The LGBTI Carer and Community Education Officer works with LGBTI and broader communities and service providers to assist understanding, identifying and appropriately supporting LGBTI carers.
