About the NCSS program

National Carer Support Services (NCSS) is a nationwide program funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).  

Over the course of our initial contract with DVA, from September 1, 2009 until June 30, 2012, NCSS has been working directly with carers within the veteran, ex-service and Defence community, and the organizations that support them.  

From July 1, 2012, under a 12-month contract extension, NCSS will have a change of focus away from direct carer support, to assisting DVA to meet its legislative obligations regarding the National Carer Strategy and the Carers’ Recognition Act 2010.  

We will be developing and delivering a training package for community care service providers contracted by DVA to deliver Veterans’ Home Care services and assessments.
