Young Victorians invited to get Involved

Minister for Youth Affairs Ryan Smith has invited young Victorians to apply to join the new Youth Ministerial Advisory Committee called Involve.

“The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to supporting young people’s involvement in policy and program development across a breadth of issues,” Mr Smith said. “The new Youth Ministerial Advisory Committee Involve will provide a pathway for young Victorians to present advice to the Victorian Government to enable strategic policy alignment, continuity and flexibility in engagement methods and timeframes.

“I encourage all young people who are passionate about making a difference in their community, be it through sport, the YMCA or volunteering, to apply to become part of Involve.”

The Involve committee will include two people from every Victorian region; one representative aged between 12-17 and one aged between 18-25. There will also be youth representatives from the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria and Centre for Multicultural Youth on the committee.

Visit Applications close 31 October 2011.
