Minister for Ageing David Davis officially opened the 2011 Victorian Seniors Festival, encouraging seniors to get involved in more than 1,000 events that are on offer.

“This is the 29th festival and it is an event with a great history and significance for all senior Victorians,” Mr Davis said. “I encourage all Victorian seniors to pick up a copy of the festival guide to find out more and get involved in events in their local community.”

Free metropolitan and regional public transport will also be offered for all Victorian Seniors Card holders from 2 - 9 October.

The 2011 Victorian Seniors Festival Program is available at all Coles stores, libraries, council offices, neighbourhood houses and various community and seniors organisations. The program can be downloaded from here or call Seniors Information Victoria on 1300 135 090.
