Climate, weather and public health alerts

Natural occurrences can impact carers across the state therefore preparation and staying informed is key.

The season is now upon us in Victoria where the incidence of fires, floods and heatwaves throughout the summer months increases. Carers Victoria understands these natural occurrences can impact carers across the state and therefore suggest measures be made to increase the safety of you and your household through preparation.

There are many great resources available to help you stay informed and equipped for anything that may present itself. In accordance with the Carers Victoria Emergency Management Plan, we have listed official emergency and fire kits, apps, websites and radio stations to tune into.

Preparation Guides - CFA Home Fire Ready Kit and CFA Fires in the Home

The CFA declares the Fire Danger Period for each shire or council at different times of the year which can begin as early as October and finish as late as May making it crucial for everyone to stay connected with the latest updates.
