Melbourne Eating Disorders Parents Support Group
Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is a volunteer, not-for-profit support & advocacy organisation for parents & carers of people with eating disorders, run by carers with lived experience.
Navigating care for someone with these debilitating mental illnesses can be extremely complicated, difficult, challenging, overwhelming, frightening & isolating.
EDFA was formed because we recognise the importance of parents/partners/carers in supporting a loved one with an Eating Disorder, but also the struggles & barriers they face while trying to help them reach recovery.
Face to face support groups for these carers are empowering by providing current knowledge, offering ideas which may be helpful, teaching skills, providing a means of connection & self-care & in simply realising you are not alone in this battle.
