DESCRIPTION:A FREE online session by Carers Victoria in partnership with Mortgage Stress Victoria\n\n\nCarers Ask an Expert: Help to Manage Mortgage Stress.\nWith Rob Burgess\, Financial Counsellor from Mortgage Stress Victoria (MSV). \nMany carers are finding the rising cost of living challenging and are struggling to pay their mortgage. \nJoin Mortgage Stress Victoria (MSV) to learn about the services available to help reduce mortgage stress. MSV is Australia’s only free service exclusively dedicated to support people in mortgage stress to maintain secure housing. \nTopic includes \n\nKey resources to support carers in mortgage stress: emergency relief\, no-interest loan scheme\, utility relief grant\, other grants and waivers\nLooking into the future: downsizing your home and using the Home Equity Access Scheme\nFinding out what help your mortgage lender can provide: financial counselling\, requesting a rate review or term extension\nGetting support if the bank does the wrong thing: legal assistance and support to make a complaint\nCaring for the carer: Accessing social work support for your circumstance\, which may include housing services and budgeting advice.\n\n \nYou are invited to submit a question to MSV at the time of registration. Rob will also respond to as many live questions as possible during the session. \n \nLocation \nThis is an online event. A link will be provided upon registration. \nWho should attend \nThis session is open to all carers and their families. \nAttendance is free\, but registration is required. \nAbout our expert \nRob Burgess is a general financial counsellor with Mortgage Stress Victoria and before that with Anglicare Victoria. Prior to that he spent many years working as a journalist\, frequently writing on finance\, investment\, economics and the housing market. This also included many references to the government’s Home Equity Access Scheme.
