DESCRIPTION:Calling all young carers! We’ve got some exciting news. \nFrom 2 March to 31 July 2026\, Carer Gateway is running the Young Carer Art Competition\, and there are some huge prizes up for grabs. \nCreate a drawing\, painting\, photograph or other artwork on paper or canvas inspired by the theme ‘Your Art\, Your Voice’. The best entries will be showcased at a Young Carer Art Exhibition later in the year. \nHow to Enter: \n\nRegister with Carer Gateway for free: Call 1800 422 737 (Mon–Fri\, 8am–5pm) or fill out this form to start the registration process. Our Carer Gateway team will discuss how we can support your caring role.\nSubmit your artwork: Take a photo of your artwork and email it to CGCarerEngagement@holstephealth.org.au\, along with a short paragraph explaining your piece\, before July 31st.\n\nWho can enter: The competition is open to young carers aged 25 or under who care for a family member\, friend or loved one\, even if it’s only for a few hours a week. If this applies to someone you know – tell them to get involved! \nHow to win a prize: We’re taking submissions from all young carers\, but if you want to be in the running to win a prize you will need to be registered with Carer Gateway (it’s free!). \nThe competition is open across three age groups: \n\n12 and under\n13–18 years\n19–25 years\n\nPrizes for each age group: \n\n1st prize: $500\n2nd prize: $250\n3rd prize: $100\n\nImportant Dates: \n\nCompetition closes: 31 July 2026\nWinners announced: 31 August 2026\n\nWe can’t wait to see what you come up with! \nPlease note: You must be registered with Carer Gateway by 14 August to be eligible for prizes. DESCRIPTION:A FREE information session and morning tea for carers by Carers Victoria.\n\n\nEmergency Care Planning for Carers in Bendigo\nThis practical 90 minute in person workshop supports carers to plan for unexpected situations when they may be unable to provide care as usual. \nThe workshop will cover why emergency care plans matter\, the types of emergencies to consider\, who could help\, and what key information to document. Attendees will also have time to work through an emergency care plan template. \nThis is an introductory session focused on short-term planning and does not cover advanced care planning. \nLocation \nBendigo Library\, 259 Hargreaves St. \nAbout this event \nCaring for others is what you do every day – but what happens if you’re suddenly unable to provide care? \nThis supportive in person 90-minute workshop helps you think through and document what needs to be in place if an emergency arises. \nWe’ll explore: \n\nwhy it’s important to have a plan\nwhat kind of emergencies to plan for\nwho could help\nwhat information to include\n\nand guide you through an emergency care plan template. \nWe know this can feel overwhelming. The session will focus is on practical preparation so you can feel confident and supported if the unexpected happens. \nComplimentary light refreshments\, tea\, and coffee.
