DESCRIPTION:Calling all young carers! We’ve got some exciting news. \nFrom 2 March to 31 July 2026\, Carer Gateway is running the Young Carer Art Competition\, and there are some huge prizes up for grabs. \nCreate a drawing\, painting\, photograph or other artwork on paper or canvas inspired by the theme ‘Your Art\, Your Voice’. The best entries will be showcased at a Young Carer Art Exhibition later in the year. \nHow to Enter: \n\nRegister with Carer Gateway for free: Call 1800 422 737 (Mon–Fri\, 8am–5pm) or fill out this form to start the registration process. Our Carer Gateway team will discuss how we can support your caring role.\nSubmit your artwork: Take a photo of your artwork and email it to CGCarerEngagement@holstephealth.org.au\, along with a short paragraph explaining your piece\, before July 31st.\n\nWho can enter: The competition is open to young carers aged 25 or under who care for a family member\, friend or loved one\, even if it’s only for a few hours a week. Build skills and confidence to advocate with your local MP for change and help us achieve a different and better future for Victoria’s unpaid carers! \nAbout this event:\nCome along to this practical workshop designed to help you engage with Carers Victoria’s ‘Carers Count’ preelection campaign. Carers Victoria has developed tools and resources to help carers advocate for change and help us achieve a better future for Victoria’s unpaid carers. \nBy the end of this workshop\, you will have built your skills and confidence to engage with the tools and resources for our Carers Count Campaign. You will: \n\nknow what you want to say to your local MP to help make life fairer for carers\, using Carers Victoria’s five-point plan as a reference\n\n\nconfidently submit your advocacy letter or perhaps ask for a meeting with your local member of Parliament\n\n\nbe able to share this information with other carers and the wider community and download resources (like a poster for example) to assist you to spread the word.\n\nPlease note:\nYou will receive a short 20-minute background film prior to the workshop to inspire you before we get started. We invite you to view the video before the session if you can. \nLocation:\nThis is an online event and will be held on MS Teams. A link will be provided upon registration. \nWho should attend:\nThis session is open to all carers and their families\, carer support group facilitators and leaders who would like to learn how to share Carers Victoria’s tool kit and resources with their group. \nRegistration: \nAttendance is free\, but registration is required. \nAbout the presenters:\nKim Repcak and Sally Camilleri are Carer Educators at Carers Victoria.
