DESCRIPTION:Wellbeing Workshops for Carers is a free\, 10-week program designed to support carers to focus on their own health and wellbeing in a welcoming\, supportive environment. \nThe weekly sessions use gentle movement\, circus-inspired activities and creative play to reduce stress\, build confidence and encourage connection with others who share similar caring experiences. DESCRIPTION:The Pines Learning and Each Family Relationship support for Carers invite you to join this series of workshops for Carers which runs for 6 weeks\, on Tuesday mornings at MC2 (Manningham City Square) in Doncaster to give Carers strategies to help calm a busy mind\, to ease tension in the body and meet the difficult moments with kindness and steadiness. \nThe focus is on Carer Wellbeing\, helping Carers to feel more grounded\, connected and sustained\, drawing on breathwork\, visualisation and somatic grounding\, and guided reflection to find calm. \nEach Family Relationships for Carers have subsidised the cost for unpaid Carers total payment for 6 weeks is $42\, just $7 per session.

SUMMARY:Carer Connect – Equine Assisted Learning
DESCRIPTION:Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) offers physically and psychologically safe experiences with horses. \nEAL gives participants an opportunity to explore issues or feelings that may be troublig them. It also provides a safe space to simply enjoy being with the peaceful horses. \nNo riding is involved in this practice. Individuals do not need to have had experience with horses to participate. \nThis is a Carer specific program where previous participants have found it to be transformative for their caring role. \nCarers need to be available to attend all 4 sessions to garner the full benefit of the program. DESCRIPTION:The Pathways for Carers walks offers carers of people with a disability or mental illness an opportunity to share walks together and to learn more about news\, services and supports available to carers. \nWe offer monthly guided walks along the Mildura riverfront\, providing people with a chance to get out and take a break from their normal caring responsibilities and have time to connect with other carers. \nWe will be joined on the walk by representatives from local organisations. \nThe walk is along Mildura’s riverfront meeting at 9.45 am  for 10.00am walk at Bobbie & Me Cafe –  Nowingi Place and takes place on the               3rd Wednesday of each month. \nA free coffee/hot drink from a local café is included in the walk. \n

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what would happen if you were unwell and could not keep up your caring role? \nDo you have a lot of important information about the person you care for all in your head? \nJoin our FREE online session for carers by Carers Victoria \n\n\n\nDeveloping an Emergency Care Plan for the Person you care for.\nPlanning for peace of mind. \nAbout this event \nThis 90 minute workshop is designed to help you consider and document what needs to be done to prepare for an emergency\, when you are not able to care for others\, as you usually would. This workshop will Include the following: \n\nWhy it is important to have an emergency care plan\n\n\nWhat kind of emergencies to plan for\n\n\nWho might be able to help in an emergency\n\n\nWhat key information needs to be documented in an emergency care plan\n\n\nPractice working through an emergency care plan template.\n\nNavigating an emergency can be very daunting. During this workshop\, we will work through a plan\, to help you plan ahead and hopefully keep peace of mind. This is an introduction to emergency care planning. \nPlease note \nThis workshop will not cover advanced care planning (Advanced care planning is a proactive process that helps individuals prepare for future healthcare decisions\, ensuring their wishes are respected if they become unable to communicate them). The focus of this workshop is how to provide continuity of care should something unexpected happen to you. \nLocation \nThis is an online event. A link will be provided upon registration. \nTechnology \nThis online event will be held on MS Teams. Carers Victoria has previously used Zoom in the past. MS Teams is very similar. To understand more about MS Teams visit the help site Microsoft Teams help & learning. \nWho should attend \nThis session is open to all carers and their families. \nAttendance is free\, but registration is required. \nAbout the presenters: \nKim Repcak and Sally Camilleri are Carer Educators with Carers Victoria. They provide education and support to carers and Carer Support Groups across Victoria.
