DESCRIPTION:To celebrate this year’s Carers Week\, we have a group craft activity for the carers to complete along with several craft ideas to work on\, followed by a catered lunch from a local cafe. \nThis day has been organised in conjunction with the carers that we are currently supporting. We would like to invite new mental health and or substance use carers into the centre and look forward to celebrating and supporting their caring roles. \nTo register for this event please call 1800 962 008 or email Grampiansmhwconnect@mindaustralia.org.au to speak with a Peer Practitioner who will assist you in registering. \nThe Grampians Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centre is a Department of Health funded service that supports families\, carers and supporters of people with mental health and substance use challenges. Support is given from a family and carer peer support perspective. All staff who work at the Centre have family carer lived experience.  This support happens in the drop in Connect Centre\, over the phone\, in carer peer support groups and through information sessions.

SUMMARY:MyTime Forest Hill – Carers Week Class in Chinese Cooking
DESCRIPTION:Chinese Cooking Class attendees will participate in a hands-on cooking workshop where they will learn to prepare traditional Chinese dishes under the guidance of an experienced instructor. Participants will explore Chinese culinary traditions\, cooking techniques and flavours while creating and enjoying their dishes together. The activity promotes cultural learning\, creativity\, social connection and confidence in the kitchen. \nThis event is free to attend and morning tea is provided. Preschool aged children (0-6 years) are welcome. While you join the session\, a MyTime play leader will engage your children in meaningful play nearby. \nMyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities\, developmental delays or chronic medical conditions. It offers connection\, support\, and resources in a safe and welcoming space. \nEligibility: Open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability\, developmental delay or chronic medical conditions.
