DESCRIPTION:If you’re a mum\, carer or just chronically over-capacity\, The Manager Is Me is for you. \nThis hilarious\, unhinged 55-minute mix of comedy\, poetry and theatre is about the invisible labour of caring for everyone else while quietly losing track of yourself. \nWritten and performed by 2025 Victorian Champion of the Australian Poetry Slam\, Dayna Fallon\, the show draws on her own experience of caring for her husband through complex health issues while raising three young children and working. \nIt’s for the people who are expected to be high-performing at work\, at home and everywhere in between\, while also somehow being the accountant\, teacher\, nurse\, counsellor\, organiser\, emotional support crew and goddamn magician. \nBecause somehow\, these can be the best days of your life\, and still be the days that nearly finish you. \nFunny first\, but with real emotional weight underneath\, The Manager Is Me shines a spotlight on carers and the extraordinary practical and emotional work that so often goes unseen. \nAt its heart\, it’s about what happens when the person holding everything together starts coming apart\, and about helping carers feel seen. \nThe Manager Is Me is performing at The Salon\, The Motley Wherehaus\, as part of Melbourne Fringe 2026.

SUMMARY:Caring for our Carer's - Caulfield South Community House
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of Carers Week in October\, Caulfield South Community House is planning a special half-day celebration dedicated to the wonderful carers in our community. \nTaking place on Friday 9 October\, the morning will be an opportunity for carers to pause\, connect\, enjoy some gentle activities and\, most importantly\, experience some well-deserved time for themselves. \nA Morning of Connection\, Conversation & Self-Care\nCarers will arrive from 9.30am and\, following registration\, begin the morning with a gentle\, slow-paced walk through our beautiful\, tree-lined local streets. \nAccompanied by our carefully selected social worker\, the walk will provide a safe and comfortable opportunity for conversation\, connection and sharing experiences along the way. \nThe group will then make their way to a local café\, where everyone can enjoy a coffee of their choice\, returning to Caulfield South Community House\, the morning will continue with morning team\, an opportunity to mingle\, chat and connect with other carers in a welcoming and supportive environment. \nCarers will also have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing hand massage with a qualified masseuse — a small moment of relaxation and self-care. \nThe celebration will also include a special art experience\, where each carer can take part in a self-directed creative activity at their own pace. \nAll materials will be provided\, and everyone will have the opportunity to create their own artwork to take home as a lasting reminder of the morning.  Ultimately\, the celebration is about caring for those who spend so much of their time caring for others. \nA morning to slow down\, breathe\, connect\, create\, laugh\, enjoy a coffee\, receive a little pampering and simply be surrounded by people who understand.  Because carers deserve to be cared for too. \nThe session will conclude approx 12.30pm
