DESCRIPTION:The Manager Is Me is a funny\, moving solo theatre work about the invisible labour of caring\, parenting\, working and somehow trying to hold onto yourself in the middle of it all. \nWritten and performed by 2025 Victorian Australian Poetry Slam Champion Dayna Fallon\, the show draws on her own experience of caring for her husband through complex health issues while raising three young children and working. \nThrough comedy\, spoken word and theatre\, The Manager Is Me shines a light on the emotional and practical work carers do every day — often quietly\, often behind closed doors\, and often without even thinking of themselves as carers. \nIt is a show about being the person everyone relies on\, making people laugh when things are falling apart\, and what happens when the person doing all the caring finally needs care too. \nFunny first\, but with real emotional weight underneath\, The Manager Is Me aims to help carers feel seen and to encourage audiences to recognise the caring work happening around them every day. \nPerforming at The Salon\, The Motley Wherehaus\, as part of Melbourne Fringe 2026.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy some great food and connect with fellow carers.Are you a carer living in Melbourne’s western suburbs?\nCarers Victoria invites you to attend our free carer brunch event for some well-deserved timeout and an opportunity to connect with other carers. \nLocation \nThe Jolly Miller Cafe \nShop R2-R4\, Opalia Plaza\, 201 Exford Rd\, Weir Views VIC 3338 \nDate and Time \nTuesday\, 13 October 2026 \n10am to 12pm \nIf an event is full\, please add your name to the waitlist. We’ll contact you if a place becomes available and offer priority access to a future event if you miss out this time. \nPlease note\, our events in Melbourne’s west are in high demand. To help more unpaid carers enjoy these opportunities\, we ask that you consider attending only one event every 30 days and if at all possible register for the event closest to your home. \nThank you for supporting fair and equitable access for carers across the west. \nAbout this event \nThis brunch group provides an opportunity for you to meet other carers in your local area\, and a chance to hear about supports and activities available in your community. \nWho can attend \nOpen to carers living in the local government areas of Moonee Valley\, Brimbank\, Maribyrnong\, Melbourne\, Melton\, Wyndham and Hobsons Bay. \nNever attended a brunch or always missing out? Send us an email via events@carersvictoria.org.au and we’ll ensure to give you priority on our waitlist. \nPlease note: \nEvent is free\, however registration is essential. \nRegistrations will close when all places are filled. To create an opportunity for all interested carers\, each carer can attend only one brunch per month. \nIf you have any accessibility requirements\, please advise us at time of registration.
