The success of the founding Canberra Alchemy Chorus has strongly informed UMFC’s approach in developing a local choir that fosters connection\, joy\, and wellbeing for participants and their carers. \nJoin the Chorus!\nUMFC have established an inclusive chorus which can be enjoyed by people living with dementia\, their carers and volunteers. SUMMARY:Carer's Week Laughing Yoga and Crafternoon
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate and acknowledge our families and carers for all they do for their care recipients\, we are hosting a 1 hour Laughing Yoga workshop\, catered lunch and an afternoon of crafts at the Grampians Connect centre in Ballarat. \nThis day has been organised in conjunction with the carers that we are currently supporting. We would like to invite new mental health and or substance use carers into the centre and look forward to celebrating and supporting their caring roles. \nTo register for this event please call 1800 962 008 or email Grampiansmhwconnect@mindaustralia.org.au to speak with a Peer Practitioner who will assist you in registering. \nThe Grampians Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centre is a Department of Health funded service that supports families\, carers and supporters of people with mental health and substance use challenges. Support is given from a family and carer peer support perspective. All staff who work at the Centre have family carer lived experience.  This support happens in the drop in Connect Centre\, over the phone\, in carer peer support groups and through information sessions.
