A series of five online workshops designed to help experienced and new volunteer facilitators and group members to run effective carer support groups. All sessions include a combination of new information and opportunities to share your valuable knowledge. \nFacilitation Skills – Ways to Successfully Engage Your Group \n– Creating a welcoming and safe environment \n– Making decisions about your group\, with your group (Codesign) \n– Strategies to support shared communication \n– Preparing to make appropriate referrals. \nWho should attend \nVolunteer or unpaid organisers and facilitators of Carer Support\, peer groups and yarning circles. SUMMARY:Carer Connect – Equine Assisted Learning
DESCRIPTION:Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) offers physically and psychologically safe experiences with horses. \nEAL gives participants an opportunity to explore issues or feelings that may be troublig them. It also provides a safe space to simply enjoy being with the peaceful horses. \nNo riding is involved in this practice. Individuals do not need to have had experience with horses to participate. \nThis is a Carer specific program where previous participants have found it to be transformative for their caring role. \nCarers need to be available to attend all 4 sessions to garner the full benefit of the program. Why not give it a go? \nTuesdays: 21 & 28th April and 5 and 12th of May 2026

DESCRIPTION:Ringwood Blokes is a relaxed catch up for males who care for autistic kids\, families or partners. \nIt’s a chance to connect over a meal with others who understand your journey and chat with our carer peer support team\, all with lived experience\, about available services and supports. \nTogether\, we’ll explore opportunities in a safe and supportive environment—and who knows? We might even solve the world’s problems over a drink or two! \nCost is $32 per person – includes a choice from our selected menu and one hot or cold drink choice (soft drink\, wine\, pot of beer or hot chocolate\, tea or coffee).
