Dementia and Family Carers Conference

Do you care for someone living with dementia? Join experts in the field of dementia care for the Carers Victoria state-wide conference for carers of people with dementia.

Carers Victoria is hosting a state-wide conference for carers of people with dementia and their families. Carers will hear from experts in the field of dementia care and learn practical skills and tips to better manage their caring role. It is also an opportunity for peer support and networking.

The conference will include plenary sessions, case studies, workshops and panel discussions and will showcase best practice, new initiatives and innovative approaches to dementia care, with a specific focus on carers. Some topics include:

  • What is dementia?
  • Tools and strategies for carers
  • Dementia and sexuality
  • Advanced Care Planning and Enduring Power of Attorney
  • Palliative Care
  • Grief and loss.

Speakers will include representatives from a range of community health and support services including Dementia Australia (keynote), Japara, Northern Health, Eastern Palliative Care, Thrive Rehab and Carers Victoria.
