SUMMARY:UMFC Alchemy Chorus
DESCRIPTION:Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC) have established an inclusive chorus/choir for those living with dementia and their carer.  The UMFC Alchemy Chorus aims to provide a welcoming\, safe and inclusive environment where those living with dementia and their carer\, can enjoy a social activity together. Research shows music and singing can have positive and therapeutic benefits for those living with dementia.  Creating opportunities for carers to connect with other carers and engage with their local community\, improves carer wellbeing. \nThe UMFC Alchemy Chorus meet each Tuesday morning during Victorian School Terms\, from 10am to 12 noon at Wodonga Bulldogs Football and Netball Club.  This is a performing chorus\, with a conductor/lead and a pianist guiding chorus members through a playlist of familiar songs from the 1940’s through to the 1970’s.  We pause halfway through the morning to share morning tea and connect with fellow chorus members. There are no auditions or singing ability required\, just a love of music and singing.  Chorus members are not locked in to attend every week. We do require those living with dementia to be accompanied by their carer and the cost is $5 each or $10 a couple. Volunteers support our chorus participants with singing\, providing companionship and with the preparation and serving of morning tea.

DESCRIPTION:Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) offers physically and psychologically safe experiences with horses. \nEAL gives participants an opportunity to explore issues or feelings that may be troublig them. It also provides a safe space to simply enjoy being with the peaceful horses. \nNo riding is involved in this practice. SUMMARY:Paediatric Palliative Care Learning Day
DESCRIPTION:We have organised a “Paediatric Palliative Care Learning Day” at Mt. Duneed Estate in Geelong on the 11th of June. (A collaboration with two Palliative Care Consortiums – Barwon South Western Region & Grampians Region and Barwon South Western Regional Integrated Cancer Service). \nWe have incredible organisations/speakers sharing their insights on the day. \nBelow tells the story behind this day: \nWhen Henry Holmes died from a life limiting illness at the age of 6 at the Royal Children’s Hospital\, his mother Jess walked out of the hospital feeling as though she had lost not only her beautiful boy\, but also the community of people who had become so important throughout Henry’s life. It didn’t take long for Jess to realise these people had become woven into her world — supporting her\, guiding her\, and standing beside her through every challenge. They had become part of her story.  \n As Jess began to navigate life without Henry\, she found herself driven to honour his legacy by raising awareness of the amazing services that had supported them. She wanted every Victorian family to have access to the same extraordinary care\, compassion\, and expertise that had meant so much to Henry and to her.  \n Jess’s vision is that every Victorian knows these services exist and can access them when they are needed most. Her hope is that every child can have a Henry Holmes ending — one marked by compassion\, dignity\, and the right support in the right place at the right time.  \n Thanks to Jess — and to the people she met throughout her journey with Henry — we are proud to present this Paediatric Palliative Care Learning Day in Geelong on 11th June 2026.  \nThis will be a dynamic and collaborative event featuring expert speakers sharing insights\, best practice\, and emerging approaches including bereavement\, to supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families\, carers\, clinicians and community. \nThank you \nJess Holmes

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a free information session about supporting neurodivergent teens\, understanding and managing behaviours and guiding them in preparation for life after school. \nMyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities\, developmental delays\, or chronic medical conditions. It offers connection\, support\, and resources in a safe and welcoming space. \nPreschool aged children (0-6 years) are welcome. While you join the session\, a MyTime play leader will engage children in meaningful play nearby. \nEligibility: Open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability\, developmental delay\, or chronic medical conditions. \nRSVP: Spaces are limited—registration is essential.
