DESCRIPTION:The Peninsula Parkinsons Peer Group has over 150 members and meets on the first Tuesday of the month in The Mount Martha Community House to hear research updates and other helpful information from a variety of well qualified speakers. Approximately 40 percent of the members are carers and pub lunches on the third Tuesday of the month have been initiated as means of social interaction and relaxation for all. \nWith the funding from Carers Victoria\, it is proposed that the October lunch at Kirk’s Hotel in Mornington will be complimentary. We are looking forward to toasting our Carers with a beverage of choice!

SUMMARY:Equine Assisted Learning for Carers - Woodend
DESCRIPTION:A free four-week Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program offering physically and psychologically safe experiences with horses. \nEAL gives participants an opportunity to explore issues or feelings that may be troubling them. It also provides a safe space to simply enjoy being with horses.  \nNo riding is involved in this practice. DESCRIPTION:Please join us at MyTime Ferntree Gully and create your very own vision board to help you to feel more organised and ready to achieve your personal goals! \nThis session is run by the founder of professional decluttering company\, Space and Time\, and funded through Carer Gateway.  The facilitator has extensive experience in helping carers to organise their life and achieve their goals. \nThere is no cost to participants and all materials and morning tea will be provided. \nMyTime is a national\, free facilitated peer-support program for parents and carers of children who need a higher level of care than other children.  This may be due to a disability\, chronic health condition or other additional needs such as developmental delay.  A play leader is present to engage pre-school aged children in meaningful play so carers can unwind and connect with others who understand.

DESCRIPTION:Carers Activity Recreation Exercise Social (CARES) Connection offers free dance classes during Term 3\, 2025 for unpaid carers who live\, work or play in Knox\, with time to mingle with other carers afterwards. \nEACH\, with support of a grant from Knox City Council\, are hosting free dance classes for unpaid carers between 1-2pm.  \nAfter the class there will be time to mingle with other carers over a cuppa and a shared fruit platter.  \n\nWear loose\, comfortable clothing. \nAll fitness levels and experience welcome. \nParking is available at the rear of Boronia Progress Hall at 134 Boronia Road\, Boronia\n\nContact Rachel or Sarah for more information on 0475 005 349.
