DESCRIPTION:A monthly walking group especially for unpaid older carers or carers of older people. This is a chance to get outdoors\, stay active\, and connect with others. \nFirst Monday every month (except public holidays) meet at the front of South Yarra Senior Citizens Centre in Fawkner Park at 10.45am for an 11am start. From here we will take a walk through Royal Botanic Gardens and finish with a morning tea at 11.30am at Domain Brasserie. \nBookings are required for catering purposes. \nFor carers who live in the City of Melbourne or care for someone who does.

DESCRIPTION:Music Boosts Wellbeing\nUpper Murray Family Care was passionate about making the UMFC Alchemy Chorus a reality. Multiple studies have demonstrated that music can support brain health and emotional wellbeing with people living with dementia. The success of the founding Canberra Alchemy Chorus has strongly informed UMFC’s approach in developing a local choir that fosters connection\, joy\, and wellbeing for participants and their carers. \nJoin the Chorus!\nUMFC have established an inclusive chorus which can be enjoyed by people living with dementia\, their carers and volunteers. SUMMARY:Choirs For Carers-St Kilda
DESCRIPTION:Choirs For Carers is a project run by Creativity Australia supporting Victorian based carers through the power of music\, mindfulness\, and peer connection. This program offers a safe\, inclusive space for carers to take a break\, recharge\, and share experiences with others who understand their challenges. \nRunning from Feb-June 2026 for our Victorian With One Voice choirs. It’s all about inviting new carers into the program and celebrating and supporting existing (unpaid or family) carers in our choirs. It will include free attendance at one of our 13 Victorian choirs and a calendar of both online and in person facilitated peer support discussions.  \nFor more information and dates for peer sessions please register here! \nThis project is made possible with support from The Victorian State Government and Carers Vic.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a hands-on session with a friendly Bunnings Activities Officer who will guide you through a fun DIY project. Learn new skills and create something special to take home. \nThis event is free to attend\, and morning tea is provided. Preschool aged children (0-6 years) are welcome. While you join the session\, a MyTime play leader will engage your children in meaningful play nearby. \nMyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities\, developmental delays\, or chronic medical conditions. It offers connection\, support\, and resources in a safe and welcoming space. \nEligibility: Open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability\, developmental delay\, or chronic medical conditions. RSVP: Spaces are limited—registration is essential.

DESCRIPTION:Music Boosts Wellbeing\nUpper Murray Family Care was passionate about making the UMFC Alchemy Chorus a reality. Multiple studies have demonstrated that music can support brain health and emotional wellbeing with people living with dementia. The success of the founding Canberra Alchemy Chorus has strongly informed UMFC’s approach in developing a local choir that fosters connection\, joy\, and wellbeing for participants and their carers. \nJoin the Chorus!\nUMFC have established an inclusive chorus which can be enjoyed by people living with dementia\, their carers and volunteers. A series of five online workshops designed to help experienced and new volunteer facilitators and group members to run effective carer support groups. All sessions include a combination of new information and opportunities to share your valuable knowledge. \nFinding the resources your Carer Support Group needs. Explore and share ideas about: \n\nResources your group needs\nwhat makes a funding submission successful\nconsider why you group might incorporate or seek an auspice\n\nWho should attend \nVolunteer or unpaid organisers and facilitators of Carer Support\, peer groups and yarning circles. Relevant for both new and established Groups. \nAbout the presenters \nKim Repcak and Sally Camilleri are Carer Educators at Carers Victoria.
