EMERGENCY RELIEF SERVICES
Our Emergency Relief Program helps and supports individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, who are experiencing financial crisis. We talk to clients about their needs, identify the areas they need support in, advise about their entitlements and provide referral to appropriate services. We are also able to provide short term material aid to clients.
WHAT DO WE PROVIDE?
• We assist our clients by undertaking an assessment of needs.
• We ensure that our clients receive the benefits and concessions to which they are entitled.
• We provide support and referral to other programs and services that can assist to overcome financial distress – including on site financial counselling and negotiating with creditors.
• We provide case work and advocacy support including identifying options to address issues such as housing, family support and mental health.
• We provide material aid including food parcels and Coles voucher, to address pressing financial problems.
INFORMATION & REFERRAL SERVICES
If you’re not sure how to find the right aged care and community services for yourself or dependent person, AMCS can help you to make informed choices by providing full and up to date information on the services you are eligible for. Our Access and Support program is developed to support seniors that are facing barriers in accessing services due to their diversity.
Is for seniors and people with disabilities living in their own homes or in aged care facilities and either experience or are at risk of experiencing social isolation. A volunteer can visit you wherever you are (different languages catered for). Visitors can come to your home at a regular time that suits you, once per week, or fortnightly if you live in a nursing home.
