Carers Victoria invites you to a one-day workshop to explore and discuss a new framework for providing counselling to people in a caring role.

Workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn about evidence-based approaches in the provision of counselling for carers and discover how Counselling for Carers: A Framework of Practice came to be.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for counsellors (including Carers Victoria contract counsellors), social workers, psychologists and other allied health professionals.

What will I learn?

Through experiential learning, participants will gain:

  • A greater understanding of the unique issues associated with caring, including grief, identity and associated impacts;

  • A greater ability to apply this knowledge in a counselling context;

  • Expanded knowledge on the theoretical considerations of counselling carers;

  • An ability to identify their own clinical approach and philosophy to counselling carers;

  • An understanding of Carers Victoria’s new framework Counselling for Carers: A Framework of Practice.
