Need support to make difficult decisions for the person you care for? Want to prepare for making decisions when you or the person you support are unable to?

This workshop discusses powers of attorney, medical treatment decision-making, advanced care directives and guardianship and administration orders. It does not provide legal advice. Powers of attorney relate to you, not the person you care for.

Who should attend

The workshop is open to all families and carers supporting someone who needs help making decisions, or interested in the decision-making supports available to plan for the future.

Topics will include

  • The types of powers of attorney and who can make them.

  • How to appoint a medical treatment decision maker and when it applies.
