Caring for a person with a mental health condition? Want to know more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

Accessing NDIS can be complex when caring for someone with a mental health condition. This three-part program helps carers to understand the NDIS process and prepare for the NDIS planning conversation.

Who should attend

This program is open to all carers and families of a person with mental health condition, who wish to know about NDIS or access the NDIS.

Session 1 - Preparing for Change

Tuesday 5 May
10.00am – 1.00pm

Understand how to access the NDIS, the NDIS pathway, and the carer’s role and rights under NDIS.

Session 2 - Planning

Tuesday 12 May
10.00am – 1.00pm

Learn what evidence to gather, how to make a start on the plan, and the options for plan management.

Session 3 - Plan Management and Having a Voice

Tuesday 19 May
10.00am – 1.00pm

Explore considerations when choosing supports, learn how to make a Service Agreement, understand carer rights, and how to make effective complaints.

Please note The program sessions are three hours in duration. Participants must attend the first session to continue in the program and cannot bring the person they care for.
