Caring for Carers – Our 2026/27 State Budget Submission

Published on 3 December, 2025

At Carers Victoria, we know many carers are feeling the costs of caring – on their health, on their finances, and on their relationships. That’s why our 2026 budget submission calls for investment in four key priority areas – tackling financial hardship, deliver early intervention programs, expanding respite services, and strengthening local supports.

These practical, targeted investments are needed now, both to ease the pressure on carers and as important first steps towards a broader program of funding, policy and program change that will ensure the 1 in 8 Victorian in care relationships are recognised, included, and can get the assistance they need, when they need it.
