School Can’t Presentation Cire Community Hub Yarra Junction: National Carers Week 2025

15 Oct 2025 10.00am - 12.00pm

School refusal session for parents and carers. Available for one day only!

Cire Community Hubs welcomes Louise Rogers and Katrina Benton from School Can’t Australia. They will share 10+ years of lived experience from parents and carers about supporting young people who are experiencing school hurt.

Discussion topics:

  • Remembering that our children are having a difficult time rather than giving us a hard time.
  • How this lens change leads us to be curious about what is impacting their capacity to attend and engage in education.
  • What helps and what doesn’t help.
  • The importance of self-care for everyone involved.

They will also talk about School Can’t Australia’s formal research into the experiences of the parent carer community.
