We are a support group run by dedicated volunteers, who meet regularly in a relaxed welcoming environment, we aim to provide those living or caring for someone with Parkinson’s Disease the opportunity to learn more about the disease and to enjoy the company of others who share similar experiences, situations and challenges.
Our group has provided support for over 20 years to those who live with Parkinson’s. We come from many backgrounds. The level of disability within our group varies, as no two people with Parkinson’s share the same symptoms. While some of our members are recently diagnosed some have been living with Parkinson’s for over 20 years. Our support group includes members ranging in age from the 50’s to 80’s.
Meetings are informal and friendly, and provide information about Parkinson’s Disease, speakers of interest and other activities. A highlight of each meeting is afternoon tea. A wonderful oppourtunity to relax, chat and share personal experiences with others.
