Good Money is an initiative offered by Good Shepherd. They provide Safe, affordable and responsible financial services for people on low incomes. 

What financial support can I receive from Good Shepherd?

Receive financial support via their network of financial capability workers and counsellors and access to No Interest Loans (NILs). NILs is a budgeting solution to help you pay for life’s essentials. You pay back only what you borrow. No Fees. No Interest.

Please note: NILs cannot be used for cash, bills, rent or debts.

How much can I borrow as a No Interest Loan? 

You can borrow:

Good Shepherd Tick   Up to $1,000 for technology like a phone, tablet and all other electronic devices

Good Shepherd Tick   Up to $2000 for essentials such as appliances or furniture, car repairs, a new computer or laptop, medical, dental or vet expenses.

Good Shepherd Tick   Up to $3000 for bond on a new rental property or for recovery from a natural disaster.

Good Shepherd Tick   Up to $5,000 toward the cost of a vehicle. (Victoria and South Australia only)

How do I qualify for a No Interest Loan?

Good Shepherd Tick   Have a Health Care or Pension Card

Good Shepherd Tick   OR earn less than $70,000 (before tax) as a single

Good Shepherd Tick   OR earn less than $100,000 (before tax) if you have a partner or dependents 

Good Shepherd Tick   OR have experienced family or domestic violence in the last 10 years

Good Shepherd Tick   AND you have lived at your current address for a minimum of three months

Good Shepherd Tick   AND you can afford to repay the loan (Centrepay and direct debit available)
