Caring for someone 65 years or older?

Carers Victoria supports carers with various respite solutions, such as Flexible Respite Programs. 

Who is it for?

Flexible Respite Programs are for those caring for someone aged 65 or older or an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person aged 50 years or older. This service helps you take a much-needed break. 

Where does the person receive flexible respite care?

The older person you care for can receive support in the home or out in the community, doing activities they enjoy.

Where are the programs held?

Flexible Respite Programs facilitated by Carers Victoria are accessible for older people living in the following local Government areas:

  • Brimbank City Council
  • Hobsons Bay Council
  • Maribyrnong City Council
  • Melbourne City
  • Melton City Council
  • Moonee Valley Council
  • Wyndham City Council

Carers Victoria is the peak body for unpaid carers. We understand issues in the care sector, and we work with government, other peak bodies, service providers and private organisations to improve the lives of carers. Our Statewide Carer Advisory Service gives you quick, clear, expert information, advice, and helps you link to assistance, such as Flexible Respite programs.
