Carers Victoria hosts free Roving Respite for Carers in Portland and surrounding districts. Roving Respite programs are unique all-day events bringing carers together in local communities across the area for a day of practical support, connection and wellbeing – all in one place.

These all-day events are being rolled out in numerous towns across regional Victoria as Carers Victoria expands local networks and support for carers.

What happens at Roving Respite?

The program runs for a full day with activities and information to help you navigate your caring role.

The day includes:

  • unique and fun creative and wellbeing activities
  • free, shared morning tea and lunch
  • practical sessions to help you navigate systems, such as the NDIS or My Aged Care
  • practical sessions to help you manage everyday challenges, plan for the future, look after your own wellbeing
  • an expo environment where you can speak with the Carers Victoria team, local councils, support providers about supports available.
