Mansfield Support Group for Carers and People with Special Needs Inc

Mansfield Support Group for Carers and People with Special Needs is a peer support group offering information and resources, fellowship and social engagement, service provider assistance and supports social inclusion and access opportunities in our community. We have been offering support for over 35 years in the Mansfield Shire. We meet monthly for morning coffee meetings,  convene NDIS Roundtables at least 5 times per year, run relevant workshops or information sessions for carers or people with a disability or chronic condition, and encourage social get togethers to reduce social isolation.

$10 membership per family per year by donation, although unpaid members also attend

What activities does the group undertake throughout the year?

Regular morning teas on the third Tuesday of the month (except January) from 9.30am at Bob’s Shed Rosehaven 82A Malcolm St Mansfield, mainly for timeout, but also information sharing and often with guest speakers

NDIS Roundtables at least 5 times per year : informal meetings of NDIS participants and/or their carers to raise and discuss issues around NDIS plans. A chance to get things clarified, share experiences, ask questions. Service providers and local Area Coordinators attend whenever possible to help offer support.

Social get togethers and special events eg Mothers Day, Carers Week, IDPWD, Carer Chillouts, workshops or guest speaker events.

Awareness and inclusion promotion events in our community.
