Join Tarishi Desai and Sarah McHutchinson, from the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, as they discuss your legal rights and the supports available to help you, as a carer for someone with cancer.
Topics include:
-financial supports and assistance for carers
-workplace rights such as flexible work options
-common legal issues and planning ahead
-where to find free and low-cost support, including financial counselling and legal assistance.
You will have the option to submit a question at the time of registration. The guest speaker will also respond to as many live questions as possible during the session.
Due to the private/sensitive nature of individual situations, the guest speaker cannot answer questions about specific cases in this forum.
Tarishi Desai
Tarishi Desai is the Manager of Treatment & Supportive Care at the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer at Cancer Council Victoria. Tarishi is leading research into the legal and financial challenges faced by people with cancer and carers, funded through the Victorian Legal Services Board Grants Program.
Sarah McHutchison
Sarah McHutchison is the Legal Policy Advisor at the McCabe Centre and a member of the research team.
This session is open to all carers and their family members who would like to know more about supports when caring for someone with Cancer.
