The Manager Is Me is a funny, moving solo theatre work about the invisible labour of caring, parenting, working and somehow trying to hold onto yourself in the middle of it all.
Written and performed by 2025 Victorian Australian Poetry Slam Champion Dayna Fallon, the show draws on her own experience of caring for her husband through complex health issues while raising three young children and working.
Through comedy, spoken word and theatre, The Manager Is Me shines a light on the emotional and practical work carers do every day — often quietly, often behind closed doors, and often without even thinking of themselves as carers.
It is a show about being the person everyone relies on, making people laugh when things are falling apart, and what happens when the person doing all the caring finally needs care too.
Funny first, but with real emotional weight underneath, The Manager Is Me aims to help carers feel seen and to encourage audiences to recognise the caring work happening around them every day.
