Empowering carers

Carers Victoria delivers a range of programs to support carers, including education sessions for individual carers and groups. Designed from evidence based practice, these education sessions support you to develop skills to support you in your caring role, gain knowledge to navigate complex support service systems and enhance your health and wellbeing.

Respite and Social Connections for Older People

A group respite service giving older people the chance to spend time with others, take part in enjoyable activities, and stay connected with their community. At the same time, carers can have planned time for themselves.

Roving Respite Program

All day programs where you can drop in and access practical sessions to help you navigate the NDIS or My Aged Care, manage everyday challenges, plan for the future, enjoy creative and wellbeing activities, connect with other carers. Free morning tea and lunch provided.

Carer Education workshops

FREE unless indicated and found on our Events for Carers webpage. A wide range of topics: Carer health and wellbeing, Disability, Mental health and more. For groups of 10+, we will aim to run workshops at a time and place you choose. Programs can be customised to suit needs.

Carers Victoria is offering self-paced, online learning on a range of topics for carers. Designed to assist you in your role and improve your wellbeing, they are free and accessible, and can be done at a time that suits you. Starting a Carers Victoria E-learning course is easy. Step into Caring

A free online program to provide practical information and local connections to carers who are new to their role. It’s part of an early intervention model to grow carers’ confidence and capability, learn about available supports, build confidence, connect with other carers in a supportive space.

The Carer Coaching Program gives carers a respectful and positive space to set goals, explore support options, and build skills over time. It’s designed to boost confidence and resilience, enhance your wellbeing and help you feel more comfortable in your role, while providing a clear path forward.

Carers Victoria delivers a 4-hour respite program for carers who support a person aged 65 or older living in the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay areas. More details, eligibility, group days/times, any costs, and to download the flyer, click below. More information.

For those caring for someone aged 65 or older or an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person aged 50 years or older. The older person can receive support in the home or out in the community, doing activities they enjoy. To check eligibility, contact My Aged Care by calling 1800 200 422. More information.

A partnership between Carers Victoria and SANE Australia. SANE Forums are a moderated, online discussion space for those 18 years and over living with complex mental health issues, and families, friends and carers of people living with complex mental health issues. Share information, stories and positive pathways through your experience. Forums moderated 24/7 by health professionals employed by SANE Australia and partner organisations. Access here.
