Carer's Wellbeing Social and Support Group
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect in the South East Metro is a free service, for all ages, that supports families, carers, supporters, and kin of people with mental health and\/or substance use challenges.
At our drop-in site in Dandenong, we run groups that offer carers social and wellbeing connection.
Our groups run on Tuesday mornings during the Victorian school term.
One week the social craft group is held, and on alternate weeks we run the wellbeing self-care group.
The group participates in various craft or wellbeing activities; each week is a surprise! Activities completed this year include canvas magnet painting, feather art, shadow painting, making hand scrubs or shower steamers, painting planter boxes and self-care activities.
We also celebrate events such as International Women’s Day and NAIDOC Week by holding a morning tea for the group.
Our groups provide a safe and welcoming space for our carers to connect, relax and participate in wellbeing activities.
