Dementia Alliance Carer Support Group

Dementia Alliance Carer Support Group is a welcoming, inclusive group that meets regularly to support carers of people living with dementia and special needs. We hold monthly carers' lunches and offer a range of meaningful activities including garden groups, craft sessions, and wellness programs. Our group provides a safe space for carers to share experiences, build connections, and access valuable resources. With a strong focus on lived experience, we aim to reduce isolation and empower carers in their journey. We are diverse, community-driven, and always open to new members looking for connection and support.

Our group offers a wide range of regular and seasonal activities throughout the year. These include:

  • Craft groups focused on creating fiddle blankets, comfort teddies, and other sensory items.
  • Gardening programs, including vegetable and herb gardens, a healing garden, and a pollinator garden where we build bee homes and bird boxes.
  • Monthly fishing BBQ lunches.
  • Guest speakers at our regular monthly carers’ lunches.
  • Diverse cultural celebration days recognising First Nations, CALD, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

All our activities are proudly supported by local community groups and service organisations. we provide a facility (20 acres) for other carer support groups to visit and hold activities.
