MyTime Melton
MyTime is a free peer support program for parents and carers of children (0 - 18) with disability, developmental delay or a chronic medical condition. MyTime members come from different backgrounds and their children have different abilities and needs.
Being a parent is an important job. It’s easy to get caught up in looking after your child’s needs but looking after yourself is important too. MyTime is a place where you can unwind and share ideas and experiences with others who understand.
Throughout the year, MyTime groups engage in a wide variety of activities designed to support wellbeing, encourage peer connection, and provide valuable information for carers.
These activities may include guest speaker sessions on topics such as:
- managing behaviours
- navigating services like the NDIS
- supporting school transitions
Creative and self-care activities such as art and craft, mindfulness, or cooking are also offered to help carers relax and recharge.
Sessions are flexible and responsive to the group’s interests and needs, with some groups also enjoying outings or themed celebrations that bring an extra sense of fun and community.
